True Love Can Happen So Many Times In A Lifetime But One Love Will Burn Your Soul Forever
As she fiddled with her phone and checked her inbox for the hundredth time, a sigh of sadness left her heart.
She always believed her prince charming in shining armor was somewhere out there waiting for her, and the day she met Ashish, her fairytale came live. He made her happy in a way no one ever could. Tiya was never a socialite. Her school, college friends and colleagues could only recall her as a grumpy, moody, sarcastic nerd who didn’t ever want to be with a bunch of people. She hated two faced people. People who will sit at the same table with their so called girlfriends and boyfriends and would text five other girls about how much they were missing them.
The generation has become so much heartless and fast, that people hardly get time to even realize their own feelings. Let alone understand another person’s. We want everything in our lives at this very moment. We want money, we want success, we want a boy or a girl whom we can secretly date while friend-zoning ten others.
Tiya personally saw and felt that relationships have become so fragile nowadays. And social media played a major role in breaking or making them. Is it that much hard to be happy and loyal with just one person throughout your life time?
But Ashish was one of a kind. He nurtured the kind, generous and romantic side of Tiya and made her fall in love with herself all over again. Being kind of an introvert herself, she never shared her personal life with anybody else other than her only best friend, but about Ashish, everyone knew. He was her pride.
Ashish was a gentleman every girl dreamt of. Tall, handsome, well spoken, well behaved and oh… did I mention oh-so-hot! Tiya sometimes couldn’t believe how Ashish fell in love with such a girl like her. Their dates, his surprises for her made her feel like a princess. She forgot to worry about life and be happy… just be herself when she was with him. Little did she know her dream was about to end.
Finally after five long hours of thinking and being indecisive, she pressed the button.
“Calling Ashish” her phone flashed. Her heart pounded.
“Yes.” Ashish sounded very dry and rough this time. Very much opposite of the way he talked to Tiya.
“So?” Tiya asked.
“I’m so sorry baby. I know you cannot forgive me ever, but I really love her. I need to go. I am so sorry.”
His every word was like taking a bullet inside her.
“I feel sorry for you too.” Tiya said and disconnected.
She felt as if someone ripped her heart apart. Never did she imagine in her dreams Ashish with some other person. But she decided to let go and poured herself a glass of vodka.
As she saw the night take over the city from her terrace, a sense of strange happiness ran through her. She let go of the impurities and was ready to welcome a new start. True love can happen so many times in a lifetime but one love will burn your soul forever. Ashish burnt it for her. She could never love someone so much, she thought. But she sure loved herself more than that.
That night, the stars again witnessed a betrayal between trust, faith and love.
